18.10.2020     Ag Day 2020

Thank you to everyone involved in our 2020 Ag Day. Despite the hard year we have been having, the day was awesome and (thanks to Alert Level 1) we were able to have visitors in school.

On Friday the radishes, diaries, scarecrows and rural assignment gardens arrived. This was a great start & the quality was really high!

Sunday topped Ag Day off with beautiful sunshine so our students could show their farm animals in the competition rings.

Thank you to the Ag Day Committee, PTA, teachers, our families and, of course, our wonderful children for keeping Ag Day alive and well in 2020.

25.08.2020      Schools back on Monday!

Time to find your uniform, clean up your black shoes & pack your school bag!

Distance Learning Hunua School Style

Hi Hunua Families,

As you are aware the Prime Minister has extended Level 3 for Auckland until midnight 26th August.

There will be a review on Friday 21 August.

Last Wednesday teachers sent out a few activities for your children to enjoy while we waited for Friday’s decision.

On Monday “Distance Learning Hunua School Style” gets underway. For some classes it will be slightly different to last time. The outline has been sent out today through our School App and to those of you on the school email address list. If you you haven’t received it, please email me and I will send it through to you.

School remains closed until we reach Level 2, or better still Level 1.

Children of Essential Workers are able to attend. If your child / children were registered with me last week, you do not need to re-register.

Keep safe and well … and enjoy this beautiful day!

Thursday 13 August 2020

Hi Hunua School families,

Last Friday we held our first whole school assembly since lockdown in Term 1.

It was soooo awesome to get together as a school … little did we know what would happen this week!

Our biggest concern over these 3 days are our students & their reaction to this sudden change.

Yesterday you will have received an email from your child’s teacher. The email for Year 1-6 students have an attachment - just an activity or two that they may like to do this week.

The Year 7&8 students who have the internet capacity can continue the work that has already been set for this week on Google Classroom. Where possible, I would strongly recommend this.

If the Government decides to extend Level 3, I will keep you up to date as to how Distance Learning will look this time around.

If you have any thoughts on this that you would like to share with me, please click on the link to the feedback page.   The link closes on Sunday 16 August.    Feedback    or

If Level 3 ends at midnight on Friday we will be back in action. Should we return to Level 2, I will send you a reminder as to how this looks at school.

Please keep safe!

Wednesday 12 August 2020

Hi Hunua School families,

As you will be aware, all Auckland schools are closed today (Wednesday), Thursday & Friday.

This includes Hunua School.

If you are an Essential Worker and require you child/children to attend school, please email me so we can prepare for them.

There will be NO school bus, including today.

I will update you all later in the day as I receive more information from the Ministry of Education.

Please keep safe!
